A hatch hiding in plain sight
The rear liftback opens wide for cargo while the Integra keeps a sedan-like seating position.
Integra combines five-door liftback practicality with a low driving position. Most versions use a 200-hp turbocharged engine; A-Spec with Technology can be ordered with a 6-speed manual, while Type S moves to 320 hp and manual-only performance.
The rear liftback opens wide for cargo while the Integra keeps a sedan-like seating position.
A-Spec with Technology offers both; the 320-hp Type S comes only with the manual.
Type S is more than an appearance package, with a different engine, brakes, chassis tuning, and road character.
Integra’s useful liftback is shared. The decision changes when you choose CVT convenience, a 200-hp manual, or the 320-hp manual-only Type S.
| Compare | Integra / A-Spec CVT | A-Spec Technology 6MT | Type S |
|---|---|---|---|
| Power | 200 hp | 200 hp | 320 hp |
| Transmission | CVT | 6-speed manual | 6-speed manual only |
| Choose for | Traffic-friendly daily use | Manual involvement with daily equipment | Maximum performance and chassis hardware |
| Main tradeoff | Least involving choice | No Type S power or brakes | No automatic and no moonroof |
Choose it for easier driving in traffic when 200 hp and liftback practicality already cover the job.
Shop IntegraChoose it for the manual, adaptive dampers, limited-slip differential, head-up display, and 16-speaker audio.
Compare the two manualsChoose it for 320 hp, Brembo front brakes, a wider body, and the most focused Integra chassis.
Tradeoff: It is manual-only and gives up the moonroof.
Find an Integra Type SThe Integra’s roof-hinged rear opening is one of its most useful traits. Fold the rear seat and test the shape with luggage, music gear, a bicycle wheel, or whatever tends to make a traditional trunk inconvenient. Then raise the seat and check rear headroom with the front occupants settled.
The driving position is lower than an ADX or RDX. Some shoppers want that connection to the road; others prefer easier step-in height. Ten seconds getting in and out will tell you more than comparing body-style labels online.
The standard Integra and A-Spec use a CVT. A-Spec with Technology is the flexible point in the lineup because it offers either the CVT or a 6-speed manual with a limited-slip differential. It also adds 16-speaker ELS STUDIO 3D audio, a head-up display, and parking sensors.
Type S is manual only and uses a 320-hp turbocharged engine. Its wider stance, brakes, adaptive dampers, and performance tuning create a different experience, but the tradeoff is real: there is no automatic Type S.
